Pictures from the Trip!

First Adventure

Almost three months ago I woke up one Sunday morning wanting to go to the Haitian-Dominican border. After one hour of discussing it with the rest of my family we decided to go to Salto Socoa, a beautiful waterfall in the middle of the Juan Pablo II highway.  We went and spent about one and a half hours taking pictures and enjoying the water. Later we ended up in our uncle’s house in Boca Chica where we did a barbecue.

Two weekends later, after doing a detailed plan with my mom’s help, we woke up at 6 o’clock in the morning on Saturday to start our road trip. On this occasion we decided to explore the Northeast cost of the island, more specifically Moca and Nagua. After two hours on the road we finally arrived to our first destination, Blue Lagoon.
Blue Lagoon is a little lagoon that was formed thousands of years ago after an earthquake. It is the only place in America where you can do cave diving. Cave diving is when you dive from one cave to another under the earth. Blue Lagoon is connected to our second stop, Dudu Lagoon. In my opinion, Dudu Lagoon was one of the best stops of our journey, if it wasn’t the best. The place has two lagoons. Dudu which is the biggest and main attraction of the place, another smaller lagoon and a little cave that is used for parties and other events. This place is very well known for its zip line that has a two store fall right in the middle of the lagoon.

After getting way too many times to count on the zip line we finally decided to go to the next place. We got lost at least four times before arriving to the place, but thirty minutes later we made it! Our third destination was “Cabo Viejo Frances”. It’s not a “must go” place, It just has an old light house; nevertheless, I really enjoyed taking a few pictures of it. On our way out of the “Cabo” we noticed a little viewpoint and decided to stop to see what was down there.

Instantly after we approached the area we understood why it was visited by so many people. From there  we were able to see a magnificent view; It was one of the most beautiful beaches I had ever seen and the best thing was it looked like it was hiding from the rest of the world between Cabo Viejo Frances and a huge natural rock wall.
After seeing that we just had to go there, we couldn’t leave without actually seeing it up front. So my dad went to a few houses that where nearby and  a young man agreed to show us the way to beach. We went down through a long staircase, which was extra hard to go through because we were carrying a barbecue and a cooler. The beach was as amazing as it seemed from a distance and we ended up spending three hours there. We ate hamburgers, played baseball with a few kids that were there and I took some pictures of my sister.

Playa Breton became one of my favorite beaches in the world.
